Prospective Students
High School Options
Central Oregon high school students have several options to get a jump start on college, earn needed high school credits or pursue their GED. Some courses are taught in area high schools, while others give students the opportunity to spend time on COCC’s Bend or Redmond campus. These options include:
Concurrent Enrollment
Central Oregon high school students can take up to 11 credits through our concurrent enrollment program. For more information visit the Concurrent Enrollment web page.
College Now/Transfer
COCC is working with area high schools to offer college-level general education transfer courses in the high school, taught by high school instructors and exclusively for high school students. Visit the College Now/Transfer web page.
College Now/Tech Prep
The College Now/Tech Prep program offers high school students, working with their high school teachers, the opportunity to gain the essential skills needed for many technical fields. Visit the College Now/Tech Prep web page.
Expanded Options
Some Central Oregon high school students may be eligible to participate in the Expanded Options program. This program allows students to take college classes and the high school pays for associated tuition, fees and books. Students should contact their high school counselor to determine if they are eligible for this program. For complete program details, visit the Expanded Options web page.
Special Admission
Central Oregon high school students may request special admission if they want to take more than 11 credits. For more information, visit the Special Admission for High School Students Wanting to Take More Than 11 Credits form (pdf).
Students under the age of 15 can take up to two COCC classes per term after approval of special admission. For more information, visit the Special Admission for Students Under the Age of 15 form (pdf).
Adult High School Diploma
This program is for those who have not graduated from high school and need only a few credits to earn their diploma. Click to learn more about the Adult High School Diploma program.
GED Preparation
COCC offers courses to help students prepare for the GED certification. This certificate indicates you have abilities and competencies similar to high school graduates and is accepted by colleges, training schools, most employers and some branches of the military.
